Description
Normawind supplies and installs LIDAR equipment set up for wind energy applications.
Furthermore, we provide a complete report of the installation of the equipment to ensure maximum data traceability.
A LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a sensor that allows remote measure of wind from ground level. This means that it is not necessary to install a met mast.
Normawind recommends using this equipment along with a reference mast, specially when:
- hub height is substantially higher than measure height
- the orography of the site is complex and a more precise knowledge of the wind field within the project perimeter is necessary
In any case, the use of a LIDAR equipment requires knowledge of the operative caracteristics and its limitations.

Quality
Normawind first visits the proposed location in order to verify that the LIDAR installation delivery can be met and to explore potential elements that might harm the quality of the wind data registered.
The knowledge of the terrain supplies critical information for the development of the measure campaign with minimum incidents.
Furthermore, the complete documentation of the LIDAR equipment installation is the first step to ensure traceability of the data registered during the assessment campaign.
